For your enjoyment. Since autocross is mostly dormant right now, hopefully this whets your appetite for spring and summer time tire-shredding fun. World’s best FD RX-7 at 1:27 and I loop a S2000 at 1:52.
This was made by an individual that I autocross with. He drives a blue STI that show up in the video as well as a yellow S2000 that makes a couple of appearances. All the footage is from my local SOLO region. A couple drivers are nationally competitive, most aren’t.

Love the street-level turbo spooly section at 2:03. How come so much footage of spinning out and taking out cones? Just bein’ dramatic?

Yeah. I think so. This is the second of two videos he made. The first is more of a complete day with some prep, racing, and tear down. This was more of the fun stuff.

Man that ground level shot feels like warp speed! I’m gonna try that next time. I can’t wait for autocross to start back up. Need to get my MR2 ready to go. I really need get a set of slicks though

Nice video.
Ive never gotten autocross, or why it would be fun. I get tracking a car because thats enjoyable ringing it out. but autocross you barely leave 2nd. Maybe im just too much of a street guy...

Yeah, you normally don’t get out of second but it is still fun tossing the car around. The reaction time you need is much lower than with a track. With a track, you have time and space to make and correct a mistake. With autocross there is almost no time to catch a mistake and it basically ruins your whole run.
Short sprints vs more of a distance mentality, small mistakes kill you.
